SPCL 11A-F - Special Academic Projects

Semester Hours: 1-3
Periodically
This course designation allows undergraduates at the University to pursue academic work for credit not usually related to published courses. Projects may include off campus or fieldwork, work study or other academic programs or studies related to a student’s general undergraduate career.

Prerequisites & Course Notes:
This course may be taken again in different semesters, under different subtitles (B-F). Students may not receive more than 6 toward their degree for work in Special Academic Projects, and only one Special Academic Project may be taken per semester. Grades will be on a Pass/D+/D/Fail basis. All projects must be contracted for in advance of the semester with a Hofstra faculty member (project adviser), receive the approval of the student’s adviser, chairperson and the dean of the school. The number of credits and the subtitle of the project are included in the student’s contract with the Hofstra faculty project adviser. For information, inquire in the appropriate dean’s office.
