BIO 93 - Independent Study–Honors Undergraduate Research ISemester Hours: 2-4
Fall, Spring
Students begin an independent research project in biology. Students may choose between a laboratory (BIO 93 and 94 ) or a library research project (BIO 93 and 95 ). Students register for BIO 93 with permission of the instructor no later than the first semester of their senior year. During the first semester, students develop their projects, learn necessary techniques and begin their research. Grade is based on a progress report. Highest departmental honors may be awarded to students enrolled in BIO 93 and 94 , or in BIO 93 and 95 .
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes:
3.4 or better overall GPA, 3.5 or better GPA in major; BIO 14 and permission of instructor. If students enroll in the BIO 93-95 sequence, they can not enroll in the BIO 90-92 sequence. May not be taken on a Pass/D+/D/Fail basis.
