NUR 217 - Information Technology and Health Literacy Seminar IV


Semester Hours: 0.5
This course is the fourth of four seminars designed to further develop the nurse practitioner’s understanding of the fundamental concepts and issues surrounding technology, information management and health literacy in today’s rapidly changing health care environment and demographics. Seminars will increase in complexity as the student progresses through the program. The seminar series in Information Technology and Health Literacy will integrate the materials from courses offered concurrently in each semester.  Conducted in an intensive format, this course is designed to address issues related to the impact of information technology on health care practitioners and consumers across the lifespan. Learners will gain experience with practical applications of information technology that improve the quality of health care communication and delivery and facilitate health care research. Building on material presented in the previous seminars, learners will gain deeper insights into theoretical concepts and practice applications for both Informational Technology and Health Literacy with emphasis on unique populations across the lifespan.

Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes:
NUR 210 , 211 , 216 . For Graduate Nursing Majors only.
