This program provides an interdisciplinary exploration of important foundational and policy issues in education and basic introduction to educational leadership, with an option for a concentration focused on K-12 or higher education settings. This program does not lead to New York state certification. The higher education concentration provides flexible course delivery methods to meet the diverse needs of students. Students can complete degree requirements all on-site, or all online, or using a hybrid learning approach. Each Distance Learning (DL) class is equivalent to its face-to-face version.

Admission Requirements



(all to be typed)

  1. Three letters of recommendation.
  2. A detailed resume of professional experiences.
  3. A comprehensive statement of professional goals and objectives.

Area 1. Administrative Strand - Semester Hours: 15-16


Concentration: Leadership in K-12 Education Settings - Semester Hours: 16


Concentration: Leadership in Higher Education Settings - Semester Hours: 15


Area 2. Foundations and Policy Strand - Semester Hours: 15


Students must choose a minimum of 3 s.h. from each of the areas designated below:

Area 4. Completion Project - Semester Hours: 2-3
