Journalism, Master of Arts (for dual-degree program)


The M.A. in Journalism consists of the successful completion of 36 hours of course work – either in the generalized program or in an area of specialization (business, science or sports).

Requires Courses (All Programs) - Total Semester Hours: 21 to 24


 Students must take either JRNL 271 or 281 but are not required to take both.

Graduation Requirements


  1. Completion of a capstone professional project.
  2. Successful oral defense of the capstone professional project.
  3. Completion of an internship or independent study in area of specialization.
  4. Completion of all program requirements with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in overall graduate course work.
