NOTES

You are not required to take Summer or January courses (for which there is no financial aid). You can successfully complete the required 124 credits for a BFA degree in 8 semesters.

Students wishing to double-major are strongly advised to remain in the BA program.

It is not possible to take a semester abroad in the BFA program. It is possible to take study abroad programs in January or Summer sessions.

For more information and to meet your faculty, visit our Department website at https://www.hofstra.edu/academics/colleges/hclas/dd/index.html

Some Drama courses (AP/IB/Transfer) taken prior to Hofstra can count toward the major.

* Honors College students must meet with a Drama Department advisor during New Student Orientation or immediately upon commencing Fall semester, in order to coordinate your Drama class schedules with HUHC seminars. In some cases it may be necessary for Honors College students to postpone DRAM 09 until Fall semester Sophomore year.

** Students who place our of WSC I and/or WSCII should chose another distribution course

*** Students are required to take 3 semesters of language, or complete Level 3 of a language. You will be given a Language Placement exam upon your arrival at Hofstra.

**** Students are required to take ENGL 115 or ENGL 116. ENGL 115 satisfies a LIT requirement in the distribution.

*****Students in the BFA program may choose to apply for the MUTH minor. Auditions for the minor are held at the same time as our regular auditions for the Fall musical.
