2023 Summer Sessions Bulletin [ARCHIVED BULLETIN]

Tuition and Fees

Current tuition and fee rates will be available on the University’s website prior to the start of each term. Hofstra University reserves the right to alter this schedule and other fees without notice.

The Student Financial Services and Registrar Suite is located on the second floor of Memorial Hall and includes the Office of the Bursar, the Office of Academic Records/Registrar, and the Office of Financial Aid.

Tuition charges are based on the number of credit hours and the type of program for which the student is registered at the rates set forth on the University’s website. Tuition charges do not change whether course instruction takes place in person or online.

All charges must be paid in full on the date established by the University for each summer session. Important due dates are specified below and can be found on the University’s website. Checks and money orders are to be made payable to Hofstra University for the exact amount of the tuition and fee payment in U.S. dollars. The privileges of the University are not available until you have completed your registration. No registration can be accepted for a student whose account remains unpaid for a prior semester. Hofstra University reserves the right to alter this schedule of charges without notice.

Visit hofstra.edu/bursar for details on our current tuition and fees, payment options, university refund policy, and more.

Tuition Due Dates

SSI (all classes): May 16, 2023
SSII (all classes): June 20, 2023
SSIII (all classes): July 24, 2023

A $50 late payment fee will be assessed if not paid by the due date.

Refund of Tuition

All students may withdraw from courses before the session begins with no tuition liability. Should you wish to withdraw from the University during a session, you must first submit the drop/withdrawal online or fill out the appropriate forms at the Office of Student Financial Services and Registrar Suite and complete the withdrawal by the last day of classes.

Refunds will be calculated based on the date of application for withdrawal or reduction in total semester hours due to program change. All tuition-related fees are non-refundable except in cases where the University has canceled a student’s course(s).

Please be aware that you are responsible for formally notifying the University of any plans to drop or withdraw from courses and will be held responsible for all billings regardless of class attendance. Note: Non-attendance of classes does not constitute an official withdrawal and does not relieve the student of his or her financial obligations or entitle the student to a refund.

The University will remit tuition charges based on our Summer Session Academic Calendar & Deadlines.  Please visit Academic Calendars & Deadlines and click on the Summer Calendar for important dates.

Students enrolled in a course that is canceled by the University will be credited full tuition and applicable fees. The number of classes attended has no bearing on the amount of refund given.

The date the withdrawal application is received by the Office of the Registrar, in person or by mail, determines the amount of the refund remitted in accordance with the tuition remission schedule found at the above link. Telephone calls are not acceptable.

Financial Aid

Loans are available to eligible students for the summer by attending at least half-time. Some alternative loan programs are also available. Pell grants may be available to students graduating in August or December. Contact the Office of Student Financial Services for more information.
