Undergraduate and Graduate Grades
|
The following grading schemes are also used with the same criteria at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. |
|
NC |
Course performance is such that no credit is granted and the instructor?s evaluation will not allow the student to take an incomplete. NC can only be awarded after at least 60% of the course work has been presented to all the students. |
UW |
Unofficial withdrawal. The student has not officially withdrawn. Faculty must indicate the last date of attendance. |
Pass/D+/D/Fail Option
Deadline for electing this option is June 8 for Summer Session I; July 13 for Summer Session II; and August 11 for Summer Session III.
At the undergraduate level, the Pass/D+/D/Fail option is available up to 30 credits, but not in a student’s major area unless a course is given only on this basis. In HCLAS this option is limited to 15 credits. The Pass/D+/D/Fail option is not available for distribution courses, except for courses given only on that basis.
On the graduate level, the Pass/Fail option may be exercised in certain courses designated by the individual department. The total number of graduate credits under this option, applicable to the degree sought, must not exceed three semester hours for the master’s degree and six semester hours for the doctoral degree. This limit is exclusive of mandatory Pass/Fail courses. P is equivalent to B or above. |
