LAW 3935 - Pretrial Skills


This course introduces some of the key skills needed in the pretrial phase of litigation. It is designed to provide a foundation for the course in Pretrial Litigation, which calls on students to apply those skills to a semester-long simulated litigation Working largely from a single case file, students participate in a series of skills exercises covering some or all of the following: client interviewing, drafting pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motions and negotiations. There is no final examination. Evaluations are made on the basis of the file containing the student’s work over the course of the semester.

Prerequisites & Notes
Students who enroll in this course are not permitted to enroll in Discovery Skills I or II.
