LAW 3602 - Landlord and Tenant Law in a Challenging Society
Students will explore residential New York Landlord and Tenant law and the challenges of delivering justice to diverse low and moderate income litigants in this substantive area.
Students will learn substantive New York housing law with an emphasis on New York City. The course will explore various delivery of legal services models such as unbundling, pro bono and low fee models. Students will also examine the barriers to justice that individuals face in landlord and tenant cases and the current solutions available. The course will be conducted in a seminar format, but will also include interactive exercises.
