PCE 001 - Introduction to Peace and Conflict StudiesSemester Hours: 3.0 This course grapples with the question, “How can we humans manage the conflicts between us so that conflicts result in justice and creative development rather than destruction?” The course examines the concepts of and rationales for war and conflict, peace and non-violence, as well as past and present efforts to foster peace and address conflicts, including important peace movements, leaders, and their writings. The course includes historical perspectives regarding contemporary transformations of peace, conflict, and human rights around the world.
