ESL 112 - Advanced Listening, Viewing, and Speaking IISemester Hours: 3 s.h. This course, designed for non-native speakers of English with advanced-mid oral and listening proficiency (ACTFL), will enhance their interpretive listening and viewing skills and interpersonal and presentational oral skills to help them succeed in academic, professional, and social pursuits. Students will practice and improve skills in spoken English on abstract topics in extended discourse. They will work at improving argument and hypothesis, giving presentations, participating and leading discussions, and other areas of general academic discourse.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: Advanced-mid proficiency in listening and speaking (may be demonstrated by completion of ESL 106 ) as defined in the ACTFL proficiency guidelines.
