JRNL 250 - Longform Narrative Journalism Semester Hours: 3 Students will learn the skills necessary to conceive, report, write and edit feature stories. These include in-depth reporting, advanced interviewing techniques, and the application of literary techniques to nonfiction writing. Course content includes applying methods of question and answer via text, allowing subjects to write long-form in their own first-person narrative, and analyzing the use of longer length pieces for web versus magazine versus newspaper. Off-campus community research and reporting time is required.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: JRNL 211 . Journalism students may not take this course on a Pass/Fail basis. Students not matriculating in the MA in Journalism program may take the course as a Pass/Fail elective. There is a lab fee for this course.
