JRNL 115 - Social Media for JournalismSemester Hours: 3 PeriodicallyInformation is now available to everyone, everywhere, all the time, and this has transformed news gathering and reporting as well as the wider communications industries. This course will explore advanced theories and concepts in social media and apply these to journalism practice. Students will learn best practice in social media journalism for news organizations and brands as well as building their own social media identity. Ethics, accuracy, sourcing and verification are important issues in social media and this course will explore these topics in depth during the semester.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: JRNL 010 and 011 . May not be taken on a Pass/D+/D/Fail basis.
