NUR 109 - Basic Health Assessment and PracticumSemester Hours: 3 This course provides the students with the knowledge and skill necessary to perform a comprehensive health assessment utilizing the skills of history taking, inspection, palpation, percussion, and auscultation. Normal assessment findings, frequently seen variations from normal and cultural differences, are discussed. This course provides the RN student with the knowledge necessary to perform a health assessment and use critical thinking skills to identify risk factors for actual or potential alterations in health. The courses also focus on differentiating between normal and abnormal physical findings when conducting a head-to-toe physical examination.
