FREN 180 A-Z - (LT) Special Topics in French and Francophonic Literature

These courses deal with specific issues, themes, genres, and authors. The topics of these courses change every time the course is offered therefore students can repeat this number for credit provided different titles. 

Current Special Topics

FREN 180F - Political & Cultural French Icons
This course introduces students to major French political and artistic figures of the 20th and 21st centuries, including Charles de Gaulle, François Mitterrand, Simone Veil, Johnny Hallyday, and Josephine Baker. The intent is to put forward what constitutes French identity through the analysis of the achievements of these politicians and artists but also through the official ceremonies dedicated to them postmortem. 


Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes:
FREN 003  or equivalent.
