HIST 115 - AFAM - African-American History to 1865Semester Hours: 3 Periodically
Topics include slavery in Africa, the diasporic culture of West Africans, slavery in North America, Emancipation, and the Civil War. Emphasis is given to the slave trade, the emergence of Black society and culture in the region, and the role of African Americans in Abolitionism and the Civil War.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: Credit given for this course or AFST 115 , not both. (Formerly The Afro-American in American History, 1619-1865.)
