Current Special Topics

MASS 181Q - 21st Century Media Management

This course will enable students to identify and examine their strengths and weaknesses in this changing business environment, help them to create career priorities and to develop a fundamental understanding of the dynamics that motivate themselves and others in a group. A strong emphasis will be placed on differentiating leadership from management skills. Students will gain a better understanding of these differences and learn which skill set is best suited for specific situations. Students will also be introduced to the principles of modern leadership and management theory and practice, applied to media organizations that not only have an obligation to serve stockholders’ interests but also to serve the public interest.  

Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes:
May be repeated for credit when topics vary. Specific titles and course descriptions for special topics courses are available in the online class schedule.
