LEGL 120 - Immigration LawSemester Hours: 3 This course provides an overview of U.S. immigration law and procedure, its historical development and current statutory framework. Among the topics covered will be the various types of visas available to individuals who seek to enter the U.S. temporarily or permanently, adjustment of status, citizenship, removal proceedings, asylum and refugee status. Federal agencies with responsibilities for immigration law enforcement will be discussed, as will the political and ethical implications of immigration law. Special emphasis will be given to compliance with immigration laws in the employment context.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: LEGL 020 or junior class standing or above.
