WSC 112 - (AA) Turns of Phrase: Classical Tropes

Semester Hours: 3
Students learn the elements of written prose stylistics. Students will investigate theories of style, analyze the stylistic decisions of authors from various genres and media, and write prose that engages a variety of stylistic approaches. The course explores how style evolves in language and pays special attention to how traditionally marginalized voices have approached style. Students will consider the manner in which prose is written.
