RHET 118 - (CP) Looking at Performing Social ChangeSemester Hours: 3 This seminar examines the creative actions and interventions of performance artist-activists, musicians, and performers from the abolition and civil rights movements, to anti-war protest performances, to the staging of abolition plays, oral histories, and use of street and guerrilla theatre/art and protest music in campaigns for social justice, Black Lives, labor rights and the environmental rights. This seminar introduces students to such performance interventions in the past, as well as encourages them to create their own activist performances and political art to advance the issues about which they feel most passionate.
