MKT 143 - Political Marketing

Semester Hours: 3
This course aims to examine various techniques that are used to “market” political candidates and causes. The course will examine political campaigns, emphasizing the packaging of the candidate/cause. Select topics covered in the course include fundraising, the impact of digital marketing on political campaigns, branding of candidates, and negative campaigns. Students will be required to examine political marketing from a historical perspective, comment on contemporary marketing techniques, and develop a political marketing plan for a candidate.
