BIOL 160 - ImmunologySemester Hours: 3 This course is designed as an introduction to the principles of immunology. Students will gain an understanding of how the immune system develops, functions, and establishes memory. Topics will include a broad survey of the cells and organs required for a fully functional immune system. Students will discuss the role of the immune system in preventing infectious disease, the development of hypersensitivity, allergy and autoimmune disorders, and cancer. (3-hour lecture)
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: CHEM 131 or CHEM 135 and either BIOL 123 or BIOL 134 .
