GRON 202 - Biopsychosocial Issues in Aging

Semester Hours: 3
This course will examine key issues facing people as they grow older, taking a biopsychosocial approach. We will discuss changing physical and sensory capabilities, health and functioning and what this means for longevity, and how all these impact cognitive performances. Mental health, social networks, and coping with pain, stress, death, and bereavement will provide a more psychosocial perspective. The course will hone in on communication strategies, resilience, and other models for successful aging.
