LAW 3610 - LIREG Real Estate Development Colloquium

This Colloquium is designed to introduce law students to the practical issues that lawyers face when representing commercial real estate developers.  The course adopts a real-world, skill-oriented approach in examining the role that the real estate development lawyer plays at each stage of the development process, from gaining control of the land, to obtaining financing, securing governmental approvals, clearing title, designing and constructing the project, negotiating the project lease and operating the project.  Experienced real estate professionals contribute to the course, sharing the thought processes, skills and disciplines that a lawyer employs when they strive to help their developer clients achieve their business objectives. Several classes will be conducted off-site.
