DPT 532 - Practice Management, Professional Development, and Leadership in Physical Therapy Semester Hours: 2 This course covers the roles of the physical therapist in administration, business and management and professional development issues. This course covers contents related to professional growth, career development, participation in leadership and administrative activities, professionalism, ethical/legal guidelines and standards for practice, and professional roles, responsibilities, and obligations. This course contents include topics related to leadership development, accountability, entrepreneurism, business, administration, and management including communication skills in business management, business planning, marketing, public relation, human resources, reimbursements, finance, operations, and management, analysis, market research, and strategy. United States health services and the basic organization and operations of the healthcare system and delivery; and legislation and regulatory policies affecting healthcare are presented.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: Prerequisites for this course include all preceding coursework in the curriculum. Any exceptions require approval from the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program Director. May not be taken on a Pass/Fail basis.
