DPT 543 - Clinical Integration III Semester Hours: 3
Clinical Integration III is the third of five clinical full-time supervised clinical experiences. Clinical Integration III consists of six (6) weeks of full-time clinical internship in a clinical environment. This clinical internship is designed to integrate and apply academic preparation in the clinical setting and further refine and enhance students’ clinical skills.
This course provides the students the opportunity to cultivate clinical competence of the student in a variety of clinical settings with diverse patients. This clinical course cultivates the development, application, and analysis of physical therapy knowledge, skills, and behaviors appropriate to patient and practice management. Students will have the opportunity to practice more comprehensive and complex evaluation, treatment planning, and intervention skills that are appropriate for their development and progression at that juncture of the program. Students are required to have a full caseload by the end of this clinical internship with minimal feedback.
