LAW 2830 - Environmental Law in Commercial and Real Estate Transactions


This course integrates substantive environmental and land use/zoning law issues into commercial real estate transactions and developments. The common law and statutory bases of environmental liability will be explored and the transactional process from due diligence to closing will be reviewed. Issues frequently encountered in transactions are considered and resolved in the context of specific transactions and land development projects. Practical skills such as interpreting technical/scientific material, working with technical professionals, implementing SEQRA, and drafting contract provisions. This is a practice-oriented course structured to fulfill the Writing requirement. Grading is based upon both written work and class participation.
