LAW 2761 - Surrogate’s Court Practice Lab: Probate & Administration Form Assistance This two-credit experiential course provides supervised, hands-on training in New York Surrogate’s Court probate and administration proceedings. Students will conduct structured intake interviews and assist individuals in completing standardized Surrogate’s Court forms under faculty supervision. The course integrates doctrinal review, practical skills development, ethical boundary training, and structured reflection. Students will provide legal information—not legal advice—within clearly defined professional limits. Through participation in supervised service sessions and completion of a structured capstone project, students will gain exposure to the procedural mechanics of estate administration while developing competency in interviewing, form completion, professional responsibility, and systemic access-to-justice analysis. Enrollment will be limited to 8 to 10 students. Preference will be given to students who have completed Estates Administrations.
