CSC 005 - (CS) Overview of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence

This course introduces students to computer science and fundamental AI concepts such as machine learning, natural language processing, and generative AI. It emphasizes societal impact, real-world applications, ethical considerations (bias, privacy, accountability), and AI literacy, including prompt formulation and critical evaluation. Hands-on activities foster problem-solving and computational thinking.

No credit toward the major in computer science.
