BIOL 146 - Advanced Cancer Biology

Semester Hours: 3
Cancer Biology is an interdisciplinary course that integrates principles from cellular and molecular biology, genetics, and immunology, to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles underlying the development, progression, and treatment of cancer. This course examines the molecular, cellular, and genetic basis of cancer, exploring the complex mechanisms that govern abnormal cell growth, proliferation and metastasis. Students will be exposed to cutting-edge research, historical milestones, and the latest advancements in cancer research and treatment, fostering critical thinking and analytical skills to address the challenges posed by this multifaceted disease.

Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes:
BIOL 122  and BIOL 123 . Biology or Pre-Medical Studies major or permission of instructor.
