RELI 071 - (CC, HP) Religion and RevolutionSemester Hours: 3 This course introduces students to the relationship between religion and revolutionary movements in Latin America and its dialogues across the world. Departing from an evaluation of economic and cultural systems including capitalism and racialization, we will critically explore social, artistic, and intellectual networks that found inspiration in religious sources for their struggle for political change. Topics include struggles for economical, social, sexual, racial and ecological justice.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: Same as JWST 071 and LACS 015U. Credit given for this course or JWST 090X or RELI 090R.
