MFT 242 - Divorce Mediation for Mental Health Professionals Fall
This course is designed for marriage and family therapists, psychologists, social
workers, mental health counselors and possibly attorneys who wish to better understand
divorce mediation in New York State. Topics covered include: a short history of
divorce mediation in the United States, the similarities and differences between
adversarial law practices and mediators, the procedural aspects of conducting
a divorce mediation, along with widely used practice procedures. The presentation
of the course is geared toward the issues that clinical practitioners encounter
in therapeutic settings. Video and case history materials are utilized.
