LYST 270 - Revaluing Language, Language Learning, and Language Learners
Fall
The primary purpose of this broad-based course is to engage Professional Diploma
students in an intensive study of literacy as a language process and then to apply
this information to constructing optimal classroom environments that support literacy
growth. The course focuses on nurturing insights about how language works and
how to document the development of learners. A primary mode for exploration is
to study language in use-that is, how language works as we observe our students
and ourselves using language.
Prerequisites & Notes LYST 237A is taken concurrently with this course. Admission to the Professional
