MSPE 226 - Character Development and Sport Once a year
This course examines theories of moral development and the moral reasoning process
as it relates to coaching and teaching behavior. Students will gain insight into
their own values and underlying motives and intentions for their behavior as coaches.
Students will critically examine moral issues and dilemmas in sport and develop
an understanding of how coaching behavior can influence student-athletes’ character
development. Students are also provided with opportunities to develop communication
skills and strategies for dealing effectively with problems and issues that may
develop during a sport season.
