ANTH 188 - Special Topics: Archaeology of Death

Semester Hours: 3
Examination of ideas about death and the afterlife through the archaeological analysis of burial practices and patterns. Includes the study of human and material remains used to reconstruct past populations and cultural activities related to life and death. Course will utilize examples from Egypt and Peru as well as several sites in North America and Europe.



Prerequisites & Course Notes:
Open to students who have completed at least 6 semester hours in anthropology and/or related social sciences. May be repeated when topics vary.
