JRNL 250 - Advanced Feature Writing Semester Hours: 3 Once a Year
Students will learn the skills necessary to conceive, report, write and
edit feature articles for newspapers, magazines and online
publications. These include depth reporting, advanced interviewing
techniques, and the application of literary techniques to nonfiction
writing. Ethical issues and emerging challenges in long-form nonfiction
will be considered. Off-campus community research
and reporting time is required.
Prerequisites & Course Notes JRNL 211.
Journalism students may not take this course on a Pass/Fail basis.
Students not matriculating in the M.A. Journalism program may take the course as a Pass/Fail elective. Lab fees additional.
