Semester Hours: 3The course will focus on European and American artists’ interpretations of nature in painting. Representative artists and major styles will be emphasized and the paintings will be analyzed within the context of society. A general comparison will be made with Chinese landscape painting of the Sung Dynasty and Japanese painting of the Kamakura period.
