LYST 202 - Literacy for Special Subjects TeachersSemester Hours: 1 This course addresses current issues in literacy studies of concern to teachers of art, music, health or physical education. The course addresses: reading and writing as constructive language processes; language and literacy learning; and the relationship between literacy and other sign systems (such as art, music, or movement). Pre-service and in-service special subjects teachers will explore how they can collaborate with classroom teachers to provide opportunities for students to construct meaning in a variety of expressive systems.
