AUD 541 - Neurophysiologic Intraoperative MonitoringSemester Hours: 1 This course is designed to introduce the advanced audiology student to the growing field of Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring. The course will present the anatomic and physiologic bases of monitoring – for spine, neck, cranial and cardiothoracic and peripheral nerve surgeries. The techniques include SSEP, MEP, ABR, CNAP, CMAP and EMG tools. The evaluation of the data from these tools and the effects of surgical, patient and anesthesia control on the interpretation of these data are covered.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: May only be taken on a Pass/Fail basis. Open only to matriculated students enrolled in the Au.D. program. (Formerly SPCH 393, Neurophysiologic Interoperative Monitoring.)
