FIN 101 - Introduction to Finance, Financial Markets and InstitutionsSemester Hours: 3 This is an introductory course in finance. Topics include the time value of money, risk and return, valuation of securities, and the functions, organization, structure and regulation of financial institutions and markets. There will be an overview of the globalization process, and ethical, political and social, and demographic issues that apply to financial markets and institutions.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: MATH 40 or above; ECO 1 ; ACCT 101 ; QM 1 . Sophomore class standing or above – students with fewer than 24 s.h. on record may not register for this course; no exceptions permitted.
