HED 280C - Abused Children and Abduction

Semester Hours: 1.5
This is an examination of child abuse that covers recognition, reporting, intervention, treatment and prevention. Theories of maltreatment and child abduction with their intervention and prevention implications are explored. Critical policy issues for schools will be discussed/evaluated. Documentation and information to fulfill licensing and certification requirements as mandated by the New York State Education Department will be distributed.
