LYST 262 - Understanding What a Writer KnowsSemester Hours: 3 This course looks at writing assessment, focusing specifically on the ways in which writing assessment can be linked to instruction and the manner in which writing can serve as a means of identity development in young writers. The course also explores alternative assessment techniques, such as narrative and discourse analysis, as well as self-assessment.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: Students must complete 18 s.h. of course work in the M.A. in the Teaching of Writing program before registering for this course.
