SPED 210 - The Creative Arts in Special EducationSemester Hours: 3
This course is designed to provide teachers of children with special needs an understanding of the role of the arts to facilitate inclusive education. Aesthetic intelligence, perceptual development and creative process are explored through the use of various media and projects which may be integrated with other areas of instruction. Implementation of a literacy-based arts curriculum for young children with disabilities for 15 hours of fieldwork is required.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: There is a materials fee of $25. Credit given for this course or CAT 235, not both. Fifteen hours of field work is required.
