CSC 52 - Fundamentals of Systems AnalysisSemester Hours: 3 Provides students with an overview of the issues and methodologies relevant to systems analysis and design. Lectures focus on the five phases of the system development life cycle: planning, analysis, design, implementation, and operation and support. Laboratories focus on learning software tools available for systems analysis and design. Students work in teams on all phases as they explore a variety of realistic case studies. Other topics include rapid prototyping, CASE tools, client/server systems, software engineering and project management tools. Requirements include completion of in class and homework laboratory projects as well as presentation of a complete analysis report to the class.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: CSC 5 or equivalent. May not be taken on a Pass/D+/D/Fail basis.
