LIT 42 - (LT) The Age of Pericles

A survey of the major literary achivements of the fifth-century BC Athens within their social, cultural and political contexts. Of particular interest will be why and how this period came to be known as the high point of Greek civilization. Authors to be read may also include Solon, Aeschylus, Sophocles, Gorgias, Herodotus, Thucydides and Plato.
