SPCH 131 - Introduction to Communication Disorders

Semester Hours: 3
Fall, Spring
This course provides a detailed overview of speech-language and hearing disorders across the lifespan. Emphasis is placed on articulation, fluency, voice disorders and aphasia. Theories, etiologies, and symptoms, as well as the educational and sociocultural impact of these disorders, are addressed.

Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes:
SPCH 103. (Formerly Disorders of the Speech Production and Speech Perception Systems.)
