SPCH 235L - Clinical Observation and Report Writing Semester Hours: 2 Summer
Course is required for students seeking supervised clinical observation to satisfy ASHA’s requirements. Students learn how to observe, and to write reports and correspondence for varied audiences (educators, physicians, family members, psychologists, etc.) Course is designed for students completing prerequisites for and pursuing entry into the M.A. program in Audiology or Speech-Language Pathology . At least 25 hours of supervised clinical observation are completed at Hofstra’s Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic and affiliated off-campus facilities. Clinical observations are integrated with the study of communication disorders.
Prerequisite(s)/Course Notes: SPCH 5A or 6 and 102A. Must be taken concurrently with SPCH 235 .
