PSC 152 - Seminar in International Politics: Ethnopolitical Seminar in International Politics: Ethnopolitical ConflictSemester Hours: 3 This course surveys the cultural, socio-demographic and related political and economic factors shaping the contemporary world and their impact on international relations. Topics to be covered include: the rise of nation-states in Europe in the 18th century and the impact of nationalism; the origins of cultural and ethnic pluralism as well as emergent ethnic and other parochial loyalties. Also included are the influences of post-Cold War developments on the revival of ethnicity around the globe.
