COUN 285S - Counseling for Conflict Transformation: A Global PerspectiveSemester Hours: 3 This course is designed to provide counselors and human service professionals with an understanding of how conflict can be addressed in transformative ways. Students will learn how conflict, whether intrapersonal, interpersonal, intergroup or systems-based, can be addressed in ways to promote growth and change. Students will gain an understanding of the principles and strategies of conflict transformation as practiced by counselors in different settings. Students will acquire greater personal awareness, knowledge and skills in relation to conflict behavior, its management and learn conflict intervention from a multicultural perspective; training in conflict negotiation and mediation will be included.
